Day 1 (LIMA City)

Get Lima (a capital city of Peru around 8AM) my friend come to pick us up at the airport.
We went to put luggages at her home, took shower, had breakfast and take a nap before we went out to book hotel, bus and tour at a local travel agency in Lima. We paid about $1,200 for the whole 14 days. I think it's reasonable price. The agency name HCG Travel but staff there can't speak english at all.  My friend translated everything for us. There are just my friend and I so the trip was very customized. We made a plan and booked bus, plane and hotel at the travel agency. We also booked tour for some city such as Paracas and Nazca but at some city we bought tour upon arrival.

After finished everything at the agency my friend give us a ride around Lima but didn't have time enough to visit any museum....which made me regret later...
My first lunch in Peru

We stayed at my friend's home in the first night...zzzzz

Day2 (Ballestas Island and Nazca Lines)

Ballestas Island

We took a bus at 4AM to Paracas which take about 3.30 hrs. Here is the bus schedule. Bus is safe, cheap and convenient.

At the bus station, a person from travel agency was waiting for us there. We took another bus to the port to get on the boat to Ballestas Island. I've heard people said that it is Galapagos2 which I have no idea how similar it is cos I've never been to Galapagos. Anyway, you can camp overnight at Galapagos but here you can't and I think there are fewer type of wildlife here in Ballestas. It is not allowed to disembark in the island, but form boat you can see various marine wild life including penguin, sea lions and birds. It's good but because the boat is very small and we arrived port quiet late so my friend and I were put into different boat -''-

From the boat, we could see Paracas Candelabra on the rock mountain.

Nazca Lines

Continue to Nazca by car. (You can take a bus from Paracas to Nazca too) It took about 3 hrs. The Nazca lines (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nazca_Lines are a series of ancient geoglyphs located in the Nazca Desert in southern Peru. They were designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994.  The high, arid plateau stretches more than 80 kilometres (50 mi) between the towns of Nazca and Palpa on the Pampas de Jumana about 400 km south of Lima The creator and the purpose of the lines are mysterious. The lines could even seen from satellite.

I heard there are some company offer the direct flight from Lima to Nazca too but it's too expensive for us and we would like to go to Ballestas Island in the morning so we went to Paracas by bus first then continue to Nazca by car with driver (Travel agency in Lima manage it for us)

There many companies offer the flight over Nazca lines but we use Aeroparacas http://www.aeroparacas.com.
It seems like morning flight is better because the sky will be clearer and less windy. Anyway, we took afternoon flight so the flight was not so stable that made me sick. I enjoyed the scenery and taking pictures in the first 10-15 minutes, later I was very sick. I tried to look the nazka lines down there but could not take a picture at all. You better not to eat anything before the flight.

We paid about US$50 just for the flight. (I'm not sure how much is it now)

This is our fleet, just 2 of us and pilot. it was 30 minutes flight

Seeing the lines and pattern from above is amazing and was an unforgettable experience. We felt like we were part of long history and reminded me to when I were young and watched these lines on TV. Now my dream came  true.

After the flight over Nazca Lines, we finished our day at Nazca going to The Planetarium Maria Reiche which is a small planetarium named after Maria Reiche, a well known archaeologist who devoted most of her life to Nazca Lines. She built the observation tower along the Panamerican road as her research place.

The Planetarium is inside the Hotel Nazca Lines in town. You do not have to stay at the hotel to enter the planetarium which offers nightly shows on the Nazca lines and the various theories about their purpose and origins.

After that, we went to the bus station to take an overnight bus to Arequipa. It's sleepless trip.
